Where do you apply eye cream?

I know it probably sounds like an obvious question..but I'm thinking of starting to use eye cream but where do you apply it around the eye? Do you put it on the lid? Underneath?Where do you apply eye cream?
The skin around the eye is one of the most sensitive areas on the body. Because of this it is important to know how to properly apply eye creams. Proper application will reduce chances of irritation - including redness and swelling.

Only a tiny amount of any eye cream is needed to cover the area. Using the ring finger or pinkey - dot the eye cream along the edge of the bone surrounding the eye. Two dots of cream should be sufficient to cover the area. Gently pat (do not rub!) the cream into the skin - staying around the edge of the bone. Do not get closer! Eye creams, once absorbed into the skin, will spread. If the eye cream is applied to close to the eyelid - the cream will reach the delicate areas of the lashline and increase the risk of swelling and irritation.

Most eyecreams contain instructions not to apply to the upper eyelid. If there are no such warnings, the proper way to apply it would be to the lower edge of the brow bone. Pat into the skin until absorbed. Any closer might result in irritation and swelling.Where do you apply eye cream?
